Leslie has a varied background. He went to school at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In building his career, Leslie has spent time at Red Light Management; a music management company who's roster of clients at the time included The Dave Matthews Band, One Republic, Alicia Keys and Ben Harper (to name a few).
AEG Live an entertainment company that produces live entertainment and Geometry Global (formerly Ogilvy Action) an international advertising, marketing and public relations company where he helped roll out the American Expresses’ Shop Small campaign.
In 2020 Leslie started developing Allyship & Action, a new company that strives to inspire others and act as an amplification channel for corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Most recently, Leslie was reporting directly into the CSO (NA) and part of the team responsible for growing VMLY&R Culture Studio. The Culture Studio dives into culture with your customer as our guide to help brands unearth their disconnect in culture and find their connection to new market opportunities.
In addition, Leslie was the Music and Culture Strategy Lead across The Coca-Cola Company's Portfolio of Brands (TCCC) for OpenX, a bespoke team responsible for managing end-to-end creative, media, data and marketing technology across the entire portfolio.
Of a particular note, Leslie lead strategy for Essence Festival of Music and Culture via Coca-Cola. Established in 1995 to celebrate Essence Magazines 25th anniversary, the Essence Festival— now known as the Essence Festival of Culture (EFOC)—has celebrated Black culture and, more specifically, Black women.
EFOC has become one of the most unique and best-loved contemporary festivals in North America. One of the Top 3 concert events in the U.S., with 500k+ visitors to the city of New Orleans, On-The-Ground experiences at the Convention Center sees foot traffic north of 363k visitors over 3 days. The festivals diverse programming includes live music, comedy, film, visual arts, dance performance, and more.
